Security Film Installation at Cincinnati Acceleration Academy
This project involved applying Madico OptiVision 15 8 Mil security window film to 17 windows, covering approximately 241 square feet at the Cincinnati Acceleration Academy. The primary goal was to enhance privacy and provide a higher level of security for the facility.
How Security Window Film Works
Security window film is a durable polyester film applied to the interior of windows. It is significantly thicker than standard window tinting, with this installation using an 8 mil (0.008 inches) thick film. The added thickness strengthens the glass, making it more resistant to breakage. In the event of an impact, the film holds shattered glass fragments together, preventing them from scattering and maintaining the integrity of the window. This makes forced entry much more difficult and time-consuming for potential intruders.
Enhancing Facility Privacy
A key requirement for Cincinnati Acceleration Academy was to prevent outside observation into the learning spaces. The Madico OptiVision 15 8 Mil film provides a one-way mirrored effect. From the exterior, the film appears reflective, blocking views into the building. From the interior, occupants retain their outward visibility, allowing them to see outside without obstruction. This solution directly addressed the client's need to create a focused learning environment free from external visual distractions.
Professional Installation Matters
Proper installation is critical for the performance of security window film. Our technicians ensure the film is applied meticulously to the glass and often anchored to the window frame. This creates a robust barrier that maximizes the film's ability to hold glass fragments in place during an attempted break-in. This attention to detail ensures the film performs as intended, providing reliable security and privacy.
Benefits for Educational Facilities
Educational institutions like Cincinnati Acceleration Academy can significantly benefit from security window film. It offers a cost-effective way to upgrade existing windows without the need for full replacement. The added security deters vandalism and break-ins, while the privacy features help maintain a conducive learning atmosphere. This installation demonstrates a practical application of window film technology to meet specific safety and privacy needs.
