To solve this problem, Avery Dennison OptiTune 5 window film was selected and installed on the six windows of the 102 sqft office. This film is engineered to manage solar energy effectively. It works by reducing the amount of solar radiation that passes through the glass, directly tackling the source of the overheating.

Tune 5 Manages Heat
The OptiTune 5 film functions by lowering the Total Solar Transmittance (TSER) of the windows. TSER is a measure of the total amount of solar energy (ranging from ultraviolet to infrared) that passes through a window. By reducing TSER, less heat enters the office. Additionally, this film helps lower the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), a metric indicating how well a window blocks heat from the sun. A lower SHGC means less solar heat is transferred indoors. This film also effectively reduces visible light glare, enhancing the usability of the space.
